I'm currently working on building my first custom built computer from scratch and I plan to SLI two EVGA 760s superclocked with ACX cooling and I was wondering if the corsair HX series psu with 750w would be a good choice to power it whole part list is as follows if it matters.
Case-CoolerMaster HAF 922
Processor- Intel I7-4790
Motherboard- Asus maximus 7 hero
Not listing the rest since I did say it in the main chunk of the message. Have a wonderful day thanks for reading.

750w should be plenty, however for something as demanding as sli setups i'd recommend getting either corsair AX series or Seasonic X series

btw just a bit of advice, y get 2 760s n not one 780?

I wouldn't get the HX, get the AX, seasonic X, antec, or xfx PSU.

BTW the i7-4790k can OC to 5.5 without being cherry picked on air, that will kick the crap out of that i7-4790, again JFYI.

I'm getting a second 760 because a friend of mine paid for one for my old computer which couldn't actually handle it by any means so I decided to just save it and build a new build. Which may seem weird and it probably is i don't always think things through fully before i decide to do it. I'll go look at those two psus thanks should I keep it at 750w?

What do you mean by cherry picked on air?

They are just regular every day CPUs, they are not binned (CherryPicked-picked because they perform well. Usually someone picks out the best of the best CPUs for Overclocking). On air means that they are air cooled with an aftermarket cooler, like a noctura, or a coolermaster 212). If you don't know what these things mean you might want to do a little more reading or get a few more opinions on your build.

Basically its going to destroy a regular i7-4790 for ~ 25 bucks more.

Okay where would I actually post the full build for comments on it cause you have an excellent point I also have a bad memory so I may have heard it before or simply explained differently.

Yeah, lol. I really like ASUS MOBO (its designed for Overclocking anyways might as well get an overclockable chip), that's a descent build and will get you far. My only concern is that the 760 has too little vram, I would just keep the one for now and save your money for a maxwell series card, or even a later generation.

Fair enough I'm going to go post the whole thing to the systems forum if you'd like to see everything I've already picked out.

I think over the long run you will like having the i7-4790k, those 8 logic cores will really help with ports IMHO from PS4 and XBOX ONE. They have 8 essentially logic cores, run the same x86 code. Just because you don't need it right now doesn't mean you won't in 5 years. I bought an i72600 back in early 2012 or late 2011 (can't remember), and I still game on it and it hasn't slowed down at all. I suspect it will hold up well with games that need 8 logic cores.
