Hey guys, I had a xbox one and ps4 at one time and ended up getting rid of both bc I'd rather game on my computer since it already does everything those systems do and more. Just wondering if my comp will stay relevant, it is a few years old now.

My pc:
xps 8300
Intel core i7 2600 @ 3.40 GHz
8gb ddr3 ram
geforce gtx 770

Which one is more powerful??

Solution

Absolutely nothing takes up more than 32GB. Skyrim can only address 3.2GB RAM at any time anyway.

Your 8GB is the as theirs, but that is fine, more is NOT needed for when gaming. Your CPU and GPU combo crushes the consoles by far run. Also, remember your software on the computer will be cheaper (STEAM sales!!!) You'll have about 30% more power than a "next gen" console. The consoles aren't very good in comparison.

You do not need 16GB of RAM if you'll be gaming, never in the current year. BF4, one of the most demanding games will only get up to 6GB, no higher.

thx, I appreciate the feedback guys! So basically it sounds like if anything I should upgrade my memory in the future. It's nice to know that that my pc makes them look bad in comparison though:) and yeah I am looking forward to the steam sales SirGetch!

Everyone listen. You are all wrong.
Watch Dogs uses 8GB RAM on recommended specs. If you would also like to record your gameplay, you would need more than 8GB so Watch Dogs and the recording software can run.

Stop trolling now... not possible. Skyrim won't use that much ram. So stop being a lying 12 year old.
