Looking for compatible graphics card

I am thinking about buying: Asus - Essentio Desktop - AMD A10-Series - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive. SKU #: 3026531 on bestbuy.com

It seems to me that it has AMD A10 6700 APU meaning intergraded graphics. If I get this computer I would like to upgrade the graphics card. How do I know what graphics cards are compatible? Would the Asus R7260X-DC2OC-2GD5 a Radeon R7 260X be acceptable?

Also I was thinking about adding a SSD for the OS. If Windows 8.1 is on the computer already how do I go about putting it on the SSD?

Thanks for your help!

As USAFRet says :) I actually put this together earlier on for another thread but may as well share here :) Comes with a good GPU for under $600, might be worth adding a smallish SSD too :) http://pcpartpicker.com/p/sjMn8d This is just an example, for under $600 you could also go for a haswell i3 and similar mobo with the LGA 1150 socket :) (all examples have no peripherals or OS)

As long as the motherboard has a PCI-E x16 rail (checked link, it does) and a decent power supply (no info on the website) you could install pretty much any graphics card that fits in the case, so yeah an r7 260x should be acceptable :)

If you're already looking to replace parts, why are you buying a prebuilt from WorstBuy?

New GPU probably = new PSU
Add an SSD, and you're looking at $800+

You could almost certainly build a new one, better, for the same amount of $$.

I was thinking a $139.99 Video Card, $40 Corsair PSU, and maybe an $80 SSD prices via pcpartpicker. So yea $800+...
Thanks for your answer though...

Take a look at the build i posted via PCPP, play around with what's their until you like what you see asthetically, performance wise and pricewise :)

Originally I was going to build my own: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/tylerttyler1/saved/TM448d
however it was a tad over budget and thought it might be easier just to buy one and add a graphics card. Take a look at this build and let me know what you think.

500+140+40(?!)+80 = $760. Close enough to 800 for me. Add in the preinstalled bloatware removal...
I just have a hard time buying parts I know from the start I'll toss out. PSU, etc.

Nice build :) To save on the fans, you could get the case I have (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/zalman-case-z11plus) which comes with 5 fans preinstalled for $60 :) (front: 1x120mm, sides both have 1x80mm, top: 1x120mm + 120mm space and back 1x120mm)

You simply said adding GPU and PSU and maybe a SSD for $800+ maybe I misunderstood. About $800 is what I want to spend.

Thanks! I just like the case a picked visual wise.

So you say don't worry about worstbuy and build my own?

Yes. You get to spec exactly the parts you want. Often for less. Or for similar price, more performance.
And you have an intimate knowledge of what is in it and how it was put together.

Definitely. better value for money by far. The only downside is that you have to build it yourself, but trust me on this, once you've built your first you won't be able to stop tweaking with what you've done to make it the best you can make it :) I must have removed and reinstalled my power cables around 5 times to make them as neat as possible :)

This is how it looks atm :) http://gyazo.com/78e89675510d9be6a0e1907cdd5790f1

Changing out the uATX motherboard for a Z77 one soon so I can add RAM and get rid of that stupid USB3.0 PCI-E extension that i had to get as my uATX board doesn't have a USB 3 header...

Setup shot (so you can see the case, and yeah i did black out part of the screen lol) http://gyazo.com/123f61c2e0afaaab0d14f9aef968d35b

Lol I don't mind I was just messing with you.
What do you think about: AMD FX 8320 8-core @ 3.5GHz or AMD FX 6350 6-core @ 3.9GHz

I'll be honest, I don't know a lot about AMD processors lol. What i would say is if you can spend the extra $35 to get the fx-8350 (8 cores, 4.0GHz), but if not then, by using http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/306/AMD_FX-Series_FX-6350_vs_AMD_FX-Series_FX-8320.html, i would say get the 6350

This is what I got so far: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/tylerttyler1/saved/vyHRsY
I wish I could shave off $100 but I don't want to get rid of the SSD lol. I guess I will though. Any other ideas to save money? What about a little cheaper video card maybe R7 260? I want word and excel on this computer too which would cost and I feel like I will go way over budget.

I've managed to shave off a little http://pcpartpicker.com/p/HMscRB Changed Mobo (-$20), RAM (-~$12), Optical drive (If this is for OS only, you can make a boot drive for Windows 8.1 on a flash drive) (-~$17) and changed the case to the z11 for the extra fans (+$2, but obviously this can be changed back lol) so a saving of $47 so far lol, maybe next is to get a smaller SSD/HDD for now. I'm trying to keep the GPU as an r9 270 at minimum lol.

Sounds good I took out the SSD too... :(

I have one monitor (I want dual screens) and I thought dual screens or SSD. I went with dual screens lol I have been dying for them makes things easier! I can use my current mouse, keyboard, monitor for now and get another monitor later.

Is it possible to get an SSD later too? How would I take Windows 8 that's already on and put it on the SSD?

As far as i know it would have to be a fresh installation :( I went for a budget option myself and picked up a SanDisk 32gb ExpressCache drive, basically it makes copies of the files you use most (including windows startup files) to try and improve speed over time. For only $40 it's worth considering :) My PC currently boots up to desktop in under 5 seconds, downside is that sometimes the cache software crashes and has to remember everything again so you get a 1 or 2 slow boots at that point. Other than that it's amazing :)

Updated with Sandisk drive: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DYkcRB

To be clear: You would install windows onto the HDD, then download SanDisks ExpressCache software and go from there :)
