I currently have a AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series and a AMD FX9(tm)-8120 Eight-core processor with 8gb of ram. I am trying to upgrade my graphic card to AMD Radeon HD 7970 and i need to know if i also need to upgrade my processor or if my computer will be fine with the current processor i have now

The FX-X1XX series are all poor gaming cpu's so it will bottleneck that GPU in games that use the cpu alot. But my biggest concern is the PSU. The TR2's are very very poor power supplies to the point where they are a danger to other parts in the system. I would start by replacing it with a better PSU then look at upgrading to a 8320 or 8350(if your motherboard supports it).

Whoops....Sorry, I thought it was an 8320. Slow down my reading a bit :D . But, yeah first off the PSU is not that great quality.

The 8320 or the 8350 if the motherboard supports them.
