Hello, I'm having the age old problem of having my gaming PC hardwired with Ethernet to the router, however I want to ensure I have good streaming in the living room, which is Downstairs and diagonal from where my gaming PC is located.

What specific (brand+model) product and configuration do you recommend for getting a good WiFi signal into the living room?

--------------------------------------------------------------------
I wish I could describe the layout of the house...here is my best shot describing the distance from the gaming PC to the living room TV.
From game PC:
Walk straight 15 steps,
turn right and go down the steps 10 steps
turn right and go down the steps 10 more steps
The Living room TV is now approximately 25 feet directly behind you, but the steps, a closet, and a wall are between you and the tv (of course you can just walk around, but I'm thinking of the signal right now).

Thoughts? Suggestions?

The best would be to run a CAT5e cable from the router upstairs to downstairs and then install a wireless AP to give good wireless downstairs. If you can't run a CAT5e cable, do you have existing COAX cable in the house you could use? If so a MOCA device could be used in place of the CAT5e cable. If no COAX, I would try a powerline adapter and then use a wireless AP to get wireless downstairs. If none of that worked then I would try something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-AirWire-Plug-Wireless-Ethernet/dp/B003Z53K8Q/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1402063556&sr=8-2&keywords=ubiquiti+ethernet+cable
to get the signal downstairs and then use an AP downstairs to give you Wifi.
