CPU error after surge

I was recently playing a game on my custom build pc, when everything shut off.
This made me panic a bit, but I soon realized it was just a surge and I relocated the PC to another outlet and strip.

When I booted up, I initially received an error saying over lock was failed- but I was running everything at stock speeds- and it directed me towards f1 for setup- so I rest everything to defaults and reset. Then I get a CPU fan error- and I am able to by pass by going into bios.
Now when I cracked my case open I noticed the CPU fan led lights were dead.

But booting into windows, everything seems fine- just this big scare.

I reset the bios via battery to no anvil- any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Try plugging the fan in a different known-good fan header. If it still does not work, replace the fan. If it works using the other header or plugged directly to the PSU using a molex-to-fan adapter then the motherboard's CPU fan output might be dead.

Fan output dead?

I failed to mention that the particular header it's plugged into, it's actually working- just the led lights are dead.

Will try plugging into another header tomorrow-
But what would cause this? Ultimately a power strip is suppose to protect from this, correct?

I just bought this motherboard a few months ago- I do to understand why it would have this issue- no warranty- long story but... FML
