Yes it would make for a great build. You could still push the i5 to around 4.3Ghz with a 212 EVO that Hazle recommended and the cooler only costs $30.

for that price, the 280X. trades enough blows with the 770 to call its equal. at it's worst, whichever you choose, its always a game of waiting for driver updates;

also, keep the USB wifi adapter. better yet, get one with an antenna or two. less hassle to troubleshoot over PCI/PCIe.

if you're not aiming to OC relatively high, consider a CM Hyper 212 EVO for around half the price.

Both are good, but the 280x will give you the same or better performance in most games, and the 1 gig of extra VRAM can be useful for future games.


On an aesthetics note you might want to get blue/black ram, or a red/black motherboard ;)

It's just for looks. Personally I would like to go with a color matched scheme.

The motherboard you chose has a blue black color scheme while the ram is red. For the same price you could go with this dark grey pair of ram:
