Not trying to make a double thread here but holy crap after doing alot of r&r my heatsink falling off is probably the funniest thing that my pc has done to me ever after owning this hunk of junk for almost 4 years slowly replacing parts my heatsink FALLS OFF.

Im not talking it slid down or made a gap this sob just flat out fell off my cpu and caused my temp to skyrocket to max and made me bsod. Now the funniest part is that yes im using it as we speak to type you this message. Now I know what your thinking "are you insane" to answer this yes, yes I am.

I took that heatsink and I said no no nooo and stuck that sob right back on and then used small rubber blocks to force it into place and make it put enough pressure to cool my cpu.( I did this while the pc was running yes I know im insane :D but what better way to know if I had the heatsink on correctly I mean atleast while its on I can see if the temps are spiking rather than booting it up and to see if it fries my cpu or not)

My earlier thread was asking what to do and that was my mistake as I know what im doing and I know my cpu max temp is 72c. (my idle temp is 39c-42c under load its 50c-65c)

Now my actual question was: can I simply replace the mounting bracket for my am3 socket so I can mount this heatsink again or do I really need to buy a aftermarket cooler I mean my stock does the job just fine and I would rather spend 10$ to buy a new bracket than spend 60$ getting a decent cooler.
