Ram Compatability Issues

I have a newly assembled computer with an ASUS Z87-Expert motherboard.

I have put RAM into it that according to the manual is compatible but when I boot up the computer nothing appears on my monitor and the Q code on the mother board comes up with 51 which apparently means 'memory initialization error. invalid memory type or incompatible memory speed'

....any suggestions?

The components are:
windows 8.1 pro
intel core i7 4770 processor
seagate 2tb hard drive
samsung 120gb ssd
geoforce gtx 780 graphics cars

The ram I got is 2 8GB's....I tried every combination of slots possible

I saw a mention of the mem ok button in the manual.....when am i meant to press it, when it comes up with the Q code saying that the ram is wrong or...???

Figured it out....there was a cord loose that was causing it to not load everything properly so when it got to that sector it thought that the RAM was incompatible cause that was the next thing to load

Thanks for your help anyway :-D
