How's my first intel $1000 budget build?

only bad choice is the PSU. apparently, the CX series do tend to fail within a year. i'd rather spend a few more dollars choosing a better one. you should be able to afford a tier2; http://community.newegg.com/eggxpert/computer_hardware/f/135081/t/45344.aspx

saw some 550-650W XFX & Rosewill Hives for ~$65.

EDIT: too bad on the GPU. there's a 280X that's going for ~$255 right now.

EDIT 2: the motherboard feels a bit lacking in regards to the power phase design. there should be an Asrock Z87 Extreme3 or 4 for less than $133 with a 6+2 or more power phase design for better OCing stability.

Yes stay away from that psu. You need a better AND more powerful psu. Anything in the ~600w range by SeaSonic, Antec, or XFX is best. EVGA or Rosewill will do if they have to.

You should really get a Z97 motherboard since it will be compatible with the next gen cpus. ALso, the 4690k will be out in 2.5 weeks if you can wait. It may be worth it.

Also, the RAM is not included in the price.

It is neither strong enough, nor reliable enough. Send it back. That is why you ask advice BEFORE you buy haha

The GTX770's minimum power requirements is 42 amps and 600w. That psu has a power rating of 38 amps and 500w, and it has reliability issues. Do NOT plug it in. Send it back.

I changed only the psu and motherboard because I assume you have bought everything already anyway.

CTurbo, is that the best? I will refund the PSU for the one you suggested. I only bought the CPU and GPU so far, so everything should be good so far. I will also buy your recommended mobo. Besides, I heard 770 is a bit stronger than 280x. I know its a lot cheaper, but I already got the 770 :/. Anything else before I buy this? Also need input on Hyper X Fury 2x4 RAM

Would the case be the best for its price? It looks ugly lol. Anything you can recommend for that price that'll be ideal for the build? (Cooling, space, etc)
