PC goes into standby/sleep mode during a game

Lately I've been playing 7 Days 2 Die and I've been encountering an annoying problem, just a minute or two when I start playing my computer "seems" to go into standby mode out of the blue, even more annoying moving the mouse or trying alt+ctrl+delete doesnt seem to do anything and I'm forced to restart my pc manually. I've also noticed my PC lags on smaller games that dont really need a powerful videocard, ie. One Finger Death Punch, anyone have any ideas?

Try to go to power options then click on one.(High Performance recommended)Then on the put computer to sleep and dim the display,set it to never.

still happens, i have noticed though that I am able to play "slightly" longer when I drop the video settings on the game, maybe my video card is going bad? it is a pretty out of date card (AMD Radeon 6700 1GB)

Still happens eh?I suggest you let a technician take a look at your system.Your GPU is still enough to run low end games but not enough for demanding games.

I should mention this problem started happening recently, before this I've been running games like Final Fantasy 14, Tera Online, The Secret World, basically fairly decent MMORPGs, granted not at the highest settings

You know I havnt really tried these games in awhile and I was just thinking about that (though I just tried running a game just now and had the same thing happen to me) so I'm thinking of reinstalling a game while trying another
