So I am planning on upgrading my gpu from a GTX 760 to a GTX 780. I was wondering if there was anything I should upgrade before getting the 780, or if any of my current components would bottleneck the 780.

Motherboard: MSI Z87-G43 (specifically worried about my MB due to it's low price)

Cpu: Intel i5-4570 @3.2

gpu: MSI GTX 760 (soon-to-be 780)

Ram: 8gb

Storage: WD 1tb hard drive + Samsung 840 Evo SSD 250GB

Power supply: 900w Antec

So if there is anything I should change before getting the 780, I would love to know.

Thanks

Your mobo is not properly suited with your CPU because it is a non-K processor.H87 or H97 will be perfect for your i5.Nonetheless,your components are fine.Lastly,900 watts for a single GPU setup is overkill.

Should I look into changing my motherboard? I know my CPU is non-K, but I thought that's ok if I don't plan on overclocking.

A GTX 780 is going to generate more heat, so you will probably need to upgrade your cooling. It requires 600 watts and 42 amps on a single rail, which you have in your 900 watt Antec PSU. Your other components are fine.

If you are concerned about you RAM, you can always add another 8GB. More than 16 GB is not needed.

Don't replace your mobo. It's still good to go as long as you don't OC.

Nothing need to change just make sure your case is wide enough to hold the card GTX780 is way longer than GTX760

I have space length wise, but is it wider than the 760? I am planning on putting in the Coolermaster 200mm Megaflow on the side of my coolermaster haf XM, to cool my GPU more. I barely have any room as is.

The width of the case shouldn't be a problem unless you have a very small case.
