So i have the opportunity to purchase a M5A99FX le R2.0 motherboard, problem is i have a AMD A6-5400K APU and i dont know if my processor can handle it. Also if i switch out my mother board will i have to reset my computer? and if i have to buy a new processor and put the two in, will i have to reset then? thanks for the help.
and p.s. i have my processor overclocked to 4.2 rather than its normal 3.6

Well do you have a need for a stronger CPU? Because your current CPU would not work with that board. It is a nice board though. Do you do a lot of gaming? With the new board you could get any FX CPU, the best being the 8350 which is a beast of a processor. The 6300 is quite a nice processor and is quite reasonable at only $109. But its only a good deal if you need the computing power. If you don't need it then I would just stay with what you have.

Ya main thing i do is game, i consider this a low end gaming pc, only thing that sucks is ive been set back about $170 in my gaming pc fund so obviously cost is a problem, but im all for upgrade especially because i intend on buying a new 770 soon, i guess a new processor and motherboard would be a nice addition as well, but what do you think a nice fx processor would cost, without being too much of course.

Also looks like i said it was a pro, its actually an le r2.0

Honestly I would go with the 6300, it is a very capable CPU. I wouldn't get anything less than the 6300, because it wouldn't be all that much of an upgrade over your A6. And that would leave you with the ability to upgrade to an 8320/8350 in the future (which are badass CPU's). I can't find the specs on the le r2.0. Are you getting it from a friend or something? Is it used, and how much will it be? Because that will make a difference on your upgrade. If you can get the board for cheap like $20 and the CPU new for $109, I would say that is a great deal...do it. But it really depends on the deal you get on the board. If its not a deal, then just watch newegg.com and wait for a combo deal on the 6300.

To be honest bro, the 8320 is like $20 more id rather get that

If its only $20 more, I would highly recommend getting it then. It is a decent jump over the 6300. The 8350 is really just a factory overclocked 8320. So a lot of people get it and overclock it themselves and have one monster of a CPU for a great price. If you think the motherboard is in good condition, I would go for it. But $40 for a used board is a little steep in my opinion.
