My monitor is saying that there is no input for both DVI and VGA, I know nothing about computers, how do I fix this??

It turns on, says no input for both VGA and DVI, then goes to sleep. Everything is plugged in and I have no idea what to do

Well it could be a few things. It is either your monitor, graphics card or the cables. The chances of both cables being bad are slim. So I would guess either the monitor or GPU. The only way to test it is to try either a new monitor or a new graphics card. This also depends on if you have a discrete graphics card or and integrated one.

Or the easiest way would be to take the monitor to another PC or Laptop and try to connect it. What you need to remember is at one time only one cable ought to be connected to the monitor, either the VGA or the DVI. It's got a limited brain , don't confuse it.

Another thing you can do is do a factory reset when you start the monitor by going into the Onscreen Display Settings.
And then give it a try, post the results here of the findings.
