Hi
I have fallowing PC
CPU Core2Duo E7400 2,80 GHz
4 GB OZC 800 MHZ memory (Dual channel)
WD 250 GB hdd
1 external WD 320 GB hdd
XFX Geforce 250 Core Edition 1 Gb GDDR3
X-Fi Sound Blaster
Corsair H50 water cooling (Pull/Push system)
Asus P-50GA PSU 500w

Question is: can I Upgrade to Q6600 G0 without any problems and put 8 GB memory?
Will PSU hold?

Solution
the cpu you have in newer than the q6600 and it preforms nearly the same.
what games do you play ?
if your games require more than 4 gb of ram you are more likely to need a better gpu.
your gpu has 1 gb of gddr3.
4 bigs of 800 mhz ram is quite good.
instead of swaping motherboard and buying more ram.ddr2 ram is ard to find and a little more expensive than ddr3.
i whould rcomend upgrading your gpu.not more than a 750ti with 2gb of gddr5.it might even bottleneck a little.
but it sould be fine the 750 ti.
and the 750 ti consumes nearly 40% less than the current gpu you have with way better preformance.

I plan to change motherboard.my MB now support only 4 gb but i can trade her for one that support 8 gb.
No need new PC for now.
Do not play BF4,Watch Dogs and crap like that
Honestly need only 8 gb of memory and Q6600 for games that I play.
So,my PSU will hold as same with 8 gb and Q6600?

for the use he wants it its perfect i have a q6600 and i am happy with it.
i also have a gaming rig 4770k.but the upgrade to the q6600 is not worth it in my opinion.
the q 6600 consumes nearly double the power.and he will need to change motherboard and buy more ram.
the question does he realy need 8 gigs of ram.?
