Hi i'm a newbie here, don't really know how this site works. well i'm almost done with school and I wanna play league of legends over the break. I also want to play other games with higher graphics as well. I have a laptop so I was thinking of buying a desktop around $500 for my budget. Any recommendation for a good pc?

More about : recommendation gaming desktop 500

For $500 you WILL NOT be able to play games like Battlefield 4, Watch_Dogs, or any other new games. You MIGHT be able to play Battlefield 3 if you turn all the quality settings down to minimum... If you're lucky. Can you afford a higher budget? If not, i'll try to pick some parts for you, for $500...

I'd rather go with i3 since it's better than fx 6300, an optical drive is unnecessary unless you really want it, and chose a better gpu.

Aaaaaand you've gone even HIGHER over his $500 budget. Like I said, you can't run the most demanding games on a $500 PC. That previous build from n3cw4rr10r was already too expensive, and that was with a pretty awful GPU.

He is a student so he should easily be able to get windows for free, which brings down my build to $569, that's worth it since r7 270 is enough for maxing games like bf4 at ~60fps

If you already have any of the components .... it will be cheaper

Well I guess he will have to hope that he can get his OS for free....

https://www.dreamspark.com/Student/Software-Catalog.asp... , I don't get why he shouldn't unless Microsoft hates him :p

Yeah, I didn't need you to link me to it. My school gave us logins to dreamspark 2 years ago, so I know what it is, and how it works.
