Hey guys. Long time lurker, first time posting.

I have a rather unique issue of freezing on my newish build PC. It is freezing whenever I visit speedtest.net Everytime. Cannot ctrl+alt+del either. Hard reset everytime. I have no clue what could be causing the issue.

A little more about the PC is its running a ssd that I just installed yesterday and installed windows on it. So it is a completely new set up. I am thinkin it may be a wireless adapter driver issue, but I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver twice now. Mobo is brand new as well installed yesterday. Thanks in advance for the help specs below.

Win 7 ultimate
AMD fx 8320 clocked at 4.1 ghz @ 1.4v
16gb vengeance ram clocked at 1600
MOBO: Asus mx299
GPU: 2x GTX 770's SLI

Thank you guys for chiming in. I just figured it out.

@nubbsauce it was only speedtest.net all other down/upload browsing worked fine. Which led me to test networking factors.

I was going to do a quick malware scan to check for infections and malwarebytes was crashing. I unistalled, and concluded that it had a bad registry file. So when speedtest.net would start pulling heavy data up and down, malwarebytes would attempt a scan and freeze the pc. Uninstalling malwarebytes solved the issue completely. Thank you!

* edit* How do I set this as the solution?

Glad to hear you fixed it!

But something caught my attention:

Malwarebytes shouldn't have caused it to freeze. I use malwarebytes and it doesn't do that when I run speed tests. If you haven't already, download CCleaner, and run it for Registry Errors. It should pick up any and all registry errors with a 2-3 runs (Takes Seconds). As for saying this is solved, I have no idea!
