So i just upgraded mu psu from a 500w to a corsair builder 600w, along with a new gpu, and my cpu fan is now really loud. It goes nice and quite for a few minutes, then really loud for a few minutes, much louder than it was before. Anyone no why?

One's best guess your CPU does bottleneck the new GPU. After you got the new GPU/PSU, then the CPU try to work hard to keep up with the new GPU, and then the cpu will get hot so that the chain reaction will be the fan try to cool down the cpu.
Look at CPU and GPU usage during the game, for example, cpu useage is in the 90's% and my gpu is in the 40's%, that means the cpu is bottlenecking the gpu.

So basically I need a new CPU?
By the way the new gpu is a gtx 660 and my CPU is an amd fx6300
Sorry for late reply

They are fine, you don't need the new cpu, do you use the stock amd cooler? I know it is not good. May get the aftermarket cooler.
