Ok guys, time for an upgrade finally.
My current setup:
Core2duo e7500
Hd7750 1gb
4 gb ram ddr2

Now I just want the pc for gaming needs. Will only have 1 hd attached , also I am looking to play games at 720p at medium -high settings, not too much desperate to see all the effects in the game, just want to be able to play games at good FPS at good quality

I'm considering get this:

Intel i5 4670
Asus h81 motherboard
4 gb DDR3 ram x 2
Corsair 550w PSU

Does the above setup sound right? Or can I get something better in this price range. My main concern is that CPU should be able to last atleast 2-3 years and maybe I can upgrade my graphics card later on for 1080p gaming.

Generally speaking you will be fine. What budget are you working with?

If you are re-using the Radeon HD 7750, then generally speaking you may notice a small increase, but not too much. If the game is very CPU dependent then you should notice a difference since the new CPU is more powerful than the old one. Skyrim is an example of a game that you should see an increase in performance since it is pretty CPU dependent.

Well my Cpu is badly bottlenecking my card, my gpu usage stays at 30% while my Cpu usage is always 100%. I can get 15-25 fps at high ultra settings in far cry 3 and assassins creed 4 and lowering the settings increases the fps marginally. So I'm guessing getting a good processor should help me with my frame rates. Correct me if i am wrong though

Well I live in India, so am gonna list prices as I have enquired.

I5-4670:13400Rs
Asus h81 Mvg4 motherboard -3800
4gb ram ddr3 1600-5000
Power supply corsair -2500

So that's about total 25k Rs.

I know about my GPU but I'm not looking for very high quality gaming currently. Also the GPU can be changed anytime but I don't wanna end up changing processor + mobo again for like another 2-3 years.
Another option is to go for i5 4570 which is slightly cheaper or fx8320 which is like 4k cheaper than i5 but not sure how long 8320 will last and it's performance is worse than i5 as I have heard around
