I have a Packard Bell imedia s1800 and I recently reinstalled windows 7. Since then I haven't been able to connect to the internet via cable. After reading various online forums I have tried downloading various drivers off the internet from other devices and installing them but no luck. any help wold be much appreciated!

When you install those drivers, what happens??

Did you reinstall win7 because of a virus? DId you do a full reinstall or a repair?

Does it show anything under network adapters in the device manager?
(go start menu, type devmgmt.msc in text box)

Does other devices connect to the internet just fine from that lan cable?

Usually when you hard uninstall windows, your MOBO drivers as well as any other pre-installed drivers go along with it and usually windows wont install certain drivers if it doesn't already have it on the disk.

If you look under your card/laptop you should see 2 different serials. One for the computer and the other for the Network card. Just put in the product id in google and you should find the driver. If there is no serial under, then you will have to find your network card another way.

I managed to find your ethernet driver so you can at least hardwire to the internet and download any other missing drivers. Type this in in Google: Lan_Broadcom_12.4.0.2_W7x64_A

That should be the driver you need to get the other missing drivers.

boosted1g - when I download them I run the setup for all of them and once they complete there is no change to anything?
I did I full reinstall. there is no network adaptors section however, under other devices it says Ethernet controller. yes the cable is fine
