Hello

I've just recently installed my new motherboard and CPU, but when I came to boot my system up, it complained about rebooting and selecting a proper boot device. Unplugged all my drives except my primary hard drive and it informed me a boot file has been corrupted and to do a repair with the Windows 7 disc. Whenever I select repair, it just says 'This version of System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of Windows'. :??:

I've adjusted different boot settings in the BIOS, but no luck. Any ideas?

Thank you

Did you have more than one drive installed when you installed Windows? If yes, you might need to reconnect the drives before attempting a system repair.

USAFRet is absolutely correct. I, for some odd reason, thought you had installed the OS after the motherboard and CPU upgrade. You will want to disconnect all storage drives other than the OS drive when you install Windows and then add them back once the install is complete.

How bizarre... Left the computer for a bit to have a break, came back and reconnected all my drives, switched it on and everything booted up. o_O

I dare say the system my start acting up and will need to be reformatted, but at least this gives me the opportunity to back up some data. :D
