290x are these temps normal?

Solution

The reference cards were designed to run at 95 degrees under load, so you have nothing to worry about. The aftermarket cards like that one were designed to reduce heat to stop the cards from throttling when they did get to 95. So basically if the card starts getting that hot it's because there's something wrong like not enough air flow in your case or room temps of 30 degrees, otherwise, don't worry.
