Hello members of toms hardware. I have encountered a problem that has been happening for a while now. I have just got new px22 turtle beaches for my pc, when I plug ANY USB headset it does not work no sound or anything! I have the audio manager "Realtek HD Audio Manager" I do not know what to do I have came to the end of solutions on this if someone could please help me with this that would be awesome thanks for taking the time to read this. If you need any information at all just ask and I will supply it for you!

Solution
It shouldn't be restricting you from making something a default device. I don't usually mess with usb audio unless I have to but maybe try disabling the usb playback device and then try to make realtek the default.

That usually means its either Muted, or there is a Driver Issue. Make sure you installed the drivers for your Turtle Beach PX22s.

I believe these are the drivers required for your headset. http://support.turtlebeach.com/download/1360/

That's the EarForceHub Driver. You may need to install that before it will work. Because a USB will be recognized as another device rather than run through your sound card/onboard sound. When it detects it in playback and recording devices, make sure you make it the default for both "Playback" and "Communication"

Let me know if that solved your problem.

Well I figured something out for the audio the USB had a little input thing attached to it so I put it in the green slot in the back of my PC and the audio works now but the speakers still have a X on it. And the microphone doesnt work this is so frustrating.
Also I just read on another forums that it said make sure that the "Realtek High definition audio" is the default device instead of "TurtleBeach PX22" Well Turtle beach PX22 is the default device and everytime I try to make the other one the default device it doesnt work Turtle beach PX22 just remains the default device

Try installing that driver, it may fix the rest of the problem. But strange how you have sound but the speaker icon still has an X on it. If you go to Device Manager, and look under audio, see if there is any visual issues. And also check Unknown Device if there is any.

Nope, dont see any errors or Unknown device.

And when I unplug the USB it makes the "Realtek high definition audio" default device but No sound! Until I plug the USB back in. Then when I do that It makes the turtle px22 default again. Why does windows have to be so hard to fix things :kaola:

Yeah, when I disable the turtle beach px22 it makes the realtek default but then when I enable it it goes back to turtle beach px22 default again and it just wont change at all. No error message or anything!
