I am in the process of building a new desktop and all the parts were checked by pc part picker, my mobo is giving off the post beeps that is for ram and won't go to bios. I'm wondering if I've done something wrong or if I need to order a different ram(which I seriously hope is not the case)

I've looked in the manual and the ram I have fits the accepted models for everything (Patriot, 1600, 9-9-9-24) except for the voltage which the ram I have is lower. Is this the problem?

I've reseated several times and have filed an application for RMA but if I can avoid it I'd like to since I've already gone quite a while without pc access and would like to rush it.

If I have chosen the wrong RAM could someone recommend me something? I'm looking for onlyout 8gbs atm.

It is my first time building a pc completely from scratch and I am in need of some help if you guys wouldn't mind. Thanks in advance

My exact list of parts is

CPU: CPU AMD|8-CORE FX-8320 3.5G 8M R

in a CM Storm Scout 2 case with 4 extra fans added in

Solution
Sorry to hear that. I would try different RAM and hopefully that works. If the new RAM doesn't work then you have an issue with the motherboard or the processor):

Good luck!

I cannot actually get into the BIOS in order to set the voltage, this motherboard doesn't seem to have the MemOK! button either. The only reason I know it's ram related is because of the motherboard speaker giving off the error that the manual says is specifically for a memory error

I've tried just one stick but never actually made sure to try both of them seperately, I'll go do that right now and get back to you.

Alright I've tried resetting CMOS by removing the battery thing and putting it back in, I've tried using only one stick of ram in all of the slots available and I still got the post error every single time. Hrm, this is a bit frustrating

I would be frustrated myself. The RAM shouldn't be an issue from looking at the motherboard specs. It could however be that the CPU is not seated properly or has a bent pin. The memory controller is found on the processor chip. If the processor is having issues it may explain why the motherboard is saying there is a memory issue.

I took out my cpu and checked under a flashlight, the pins don't seem to be bent, I put it back in and reseated the ram one last time and still get the post error ): guess I'll have to try different ram

I am so happy right now, ran down to my local computer parts store that built my first pc when i was a kid and just bought some corsair vengeance sticks, now everything is up and running great and totally worth the extra 30 dollars in exchange for being able to have it all now instead of a week or two from now by ordering online(my only gripe is that the red vipers look so much more aesthetically pleasing)

^-^ thanks for everything guys! Not a damn clue why the other ram kit won't work but confirmed it is a compatibility issue probably...

Glad everything is working properly!:)
