Boot from cloned drive (windows 8.1) from asus p5kr to a new with asus p5k

Hello to community.
As the title says i would like to know if i can clone my hard of my current system Asus P5KR motherboard , and boot from the cloned drive to a new system with Asus P5K Motherboard.
Any help will be appreciated.

Short answer - Probably not.
Long answer - It depends on a lot of things.
What type of Windows license is it? OEM? Retail? Preinstalled?
1 license, 1 PC. If you're building a new system, it needs its own OS license.

First of all you would have to activate it again since Microsoft doesn't let you use one license on more than one computer and you would probably run into a problem because of the hardware differences. So it's possible but you need a new license and it may or may not work.
