Hello all,
So I got all my parts to build a new computer for a friend today. Building was no issue, and the computer boots fine with no GPU and I have successfully installed windows 7 (no drivers have been installed, was installed with no internet). However, whenever I plug my graphics card in (I plug in the 6 pin and 8pin) the computer boots but it has "no input". I need help fast!

Specs:
Asus Z-97 A mobo
8gb corsair vengeance (1 stick)
i5 4670
XFX 550w bronze
Evga gtx 760 dual SC

What cable are you using from your graphics card to the monitor? If possible, try changing the cable, it could be the cable is bad. What monitor are you using and is the proper input source (if applicable) selected?

It's an HDMI cable but it can't be bad because it displays windows 7 without the GPU installed

Is the HDMI cable plugged into the video card?

Ahh it wasn't, no. I'm not there anymore since I am going back tomorrow. If that doesn't solve the problem, anyone else have more ideas?

Yes that'll take care of the signal issue

I think you may want to verify with your friend that the cable was/is plugged into the HDMI port and not the Display Port

Definitely verified. I'm going back over there tomorrow, what else should I look for or do?

Check your BIOS. Look under Graphics Configuration and set Primary Display to PCIE.

Found the solution-needed an adapter from hdmi to vga so I could see. Apparently these boards arent smart enough to know not to switch from integrated graphics to GPU. Thanks anyway
