im overclocking a fx 6300 on the ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 motherboard.
im wondering how far i can push the voltage without frying the mobo.
im working on a 4.7ghz oc @ 1.47 volts and core 3 fails in prime 95, i was wondering how much more i should go with the voltage or if i should stop here and down clock the multiplier . i know this mobo isnt that great with oc'ing but i bought the cooler master hyper 212 evo and just wanted to get a good oc outa the 6300. also whats a good idle temp with an oc like this? i did disable cool n quiet. im not sitting at my comp right now so this all the info i can give you

mobo- ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3
psu- SILVERSTONE Strider Essential ST60F-ESB 600W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 plus bronze

Solution

That one is good quality 6 phase VRM. There is also a similar gigabyte 970. You got the right idea now.
