Hello again :)

Today my friend sent me on a mission to purchase a computer that he found listed on Craigslist.
The PC was being sold without HDD, so I brought my own SSD and a monitor so I could test it properly.

However.. When we turned it on there was no signal to the monitor. We tried connecting it to his TV, but stil nothing. I left empty handed and he promised to keep trying. Later that evening he sent me a message telling me he fixed it and that the RAM was the cause (apparently all 4 sticks had gone bad)

He was selling the PC because he had no more use for it and it had been sitting there for 6 month (so it had not been turned on for 6 month)

So I guess my question is.. is this normal? ALL sticks going bad in the period of 6 months and the PC was never even connected to any power. The RAM that was in was Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz (2x4GB and 2x2GB sticks)

When he fixed the issue he was using 1 stick of 2 or 4GB (he did not remember according to the text) at 1333mhz.

Any thoughts about all of this? I feel like I'm taking a risk buying this and gambling if it will work when I put my own ram in it (the RAM is 2 hours away from me ATM, and I can't bring it with me when I'm going over there) Maybe there is a logical reason for the "old" ram to fail?
I told him to have the PC ready tomorrow and I want him to turn it on 1-2 hours before I come over so I can make sure it's at least somewhat stable.

Anyways.. I'd just like your opinion about this before I buy it :)

Although you are testing it it cud go wrong after a week... All four RAMs going bad is not normal... Sometimes Mobo surges kills them all at once.. Please make a deal of 15 Day return as u can then verify the rig will run...or else You can return it to him...:cheese:
