I replaced the screen in my laptop but its still not working. I can hold a flashlight up to it and see a faint image. There is no inverter at the bottom of the screen like some laptops I have had. The laptop works perfect connected to an external monitor. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Also, the old screen does the same thing.

TIA

Solution
Hi, you have no inverter because your screen uses LEDs. This mean that your old screen could be fine, you could reinstalling the driver for the GPU and the chipset, maybe the brightness will come back. You can also check the cable for the screen, to see any damage on the cable. Verify also the connection for the cable at the motherboard itself. But I think you have a defective component on the motherboard that provides the voltage for the LEDs.
