Just purchased and installed corsair cx500 on my HP 500-054. I have the motherboard 24 pin adapter plugged in and the adapter for the disk drive and hard drive plugged in. When I try to turn it on with the peripherals attached none of them are responsive. My mouse and keyboard aren't working and my monitor searches for a signal then says no signal and goes to sleep. What did I miss?

Solution
Did you plug in the 4 pin power for the CPU.

Highlighted in yellow.

You split the 8 pin power like this below , then use one of the 4 pins for CPU power highlighted in yellow.

Make sure the 24-pins and the 8-pins connectors are plugged in securely and the latches engaged. Same with the peripherals power connectors; fully engaged.

Ok, so that worked with turning the pc's peripherals on. Now the main reason I switched the psu was to run the new geforce gt610 on my computer. After I got it working and plugged in the gpu it beeped 5 times and nothing from the VGA cable.

Thank you for all the help, can you help a novice out some more?:)
