hello,

I recently bought the pieces for a new desktop. I have a Asus p9x79 mobo with Intel I7 4820K and Kingston hyperx beast ram 4 8GB sticks. 2400 MHZ pc19200. I have put it all together but when I boot it up it won't bring up anything on the display and my DRAM led on the motherboard stays lit for about 2 minutes, then my CPU led on the motherboard stays lit for a couple minutes, then finally my display turns on and I get the asus logo, but it just goes to a screen that says updating bios please wait, it counts up to 100% but then it just restarts, it never seems to finish. I left it for almost 24 hours and it just kept going. I have flashed the bios with the latest version from asus website, and have tried a different type of kingston ram but that also didn't work. I have tried with just the CPU installed but the DRAM led still comes on. I can't figure out if I just have a bad Motherboard or if something isn't compatible. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support and would like to offer our assistance. According to your motherboard manual there should be a "MemOK" switch next to the DRAM LED. If you hold down this switch when booting up the computer with the memory installed it should reset the BIOS defaults and retest the memory. Our HyperX Beast memory should work properly with the ASUS P9x79 and Intel i7-4820K. I find it a little odd that the motherboard would boot up the first time and update the BIOS without that being manually initiated. Consider contacting ASUS directly to find out more about the BIOS. For any further assistance with our memory, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you.

Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.
