I have AT&T U-Verse Internet, which is DSL. I have only the standard equipment that the tech installed. The gateway (Pace 5031NV) is on one side of the house, and i get low reception for WiFi on the other side of my house, so i want to extend the range with a second wireless router. I dont want to have to sign in or re-authenticate my device(s) again if they connect between signals... i basically just want to extend my current wifi signal to get a wider, seamless connection throughout my whole house. Ive been looking into it, and it seems like the best thing to do for this is to set the second router as an access point? Would this be the right or best thing to do?

Please help me. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yes it would be best to use the second router as an access point using the same SSID but a different wireless channel. You will need an ethernet cable between the DSL router and the router you want to use as an AP.
