My wireless card (asus pce-n53) causes my computer to BSOD to a screen reading irql_not_less_or_equal_to upon installing windows 8.1. it then restarts and starts to say every time i boot about how theres an error and some other bs. When i take the card out it works fine and ya. Do you have any idea how i could install it so it will work and not mess up my computer. Thx

That wireless card is probably not compatible with Win8. This is the OS support from the card's web site:
http://www.asus.com/Networking/PCEN53/specifications/

Windows® 7 , 32bit/64bit
Windows® Vista
Windows® XP
Linux Kernel 2.6 (Support Ubuntu only)

Win8 is not listed. Try updating drivers and BIOS, maybe? Check with the manufacturer and see if they have an updated driver for the card that is compatible with Win8.

It is compatible. It says so on the box and if you go to the driver download it has drivers for win 8/8.1

Did you install the Win8.1 driver before you installed the card?

No i am currently using the card on an ethernet cable in my family office (but have to move comp to room). When computer is all setup i put the card in and downloaded the driver. It then said it had to restart to complete installation but after the restart the same messages come up.

In the info about the Win8.1 driver, it said to install the card after the driver was installed.
