Hello.
I have a strange issue with the DisplayPort.
As HDMI works completely fine, I will switched to the DisplayPort, which will show only the mouse pointer (moving) and the background. All applications cannot be seen, as well as desktop icons and the taskbar.
I narrowed it down to a problem with the cord or the monitor, because since I found out about this issue, I have switched my gpu and my motherboard.
I understand I'll probably have to buy a new cord or monitor, but I would like to know if anyone has a fix for this.
Thank you for your time in advance.

Solution
Sounds like the operating system thinks there are two or more displays attached at once, and when using display port, it's acting as a secondary monitor and all your applications are still being displayed on the primary.

Fixed it actually, by keeping both cords plugged in and going into the display settings.
I don't know why Windows insisted to change the settings without my permission in the first place, but all is well now.

Thank you so much for the quick reply.
