Hi. I'm a first time computer builder, and while I haven't spent to much time researching each part I've come up with a list which looks pretty good on paper. While it will be used for gaming, I'm not looking for an incredible graphics card, because a lot of the games I play weren't created for great graphics, but I still want something that I can play serious games on(If I choose to in the future). I do however want to make sure I'm not bottlenecking any performance from any part of the computer. I do look to run a minecraft server on this computer so I will definitely need at least 8GB of RAM for future server expansion. I'm also not even sure if the graphics card is compatible with my motherboard. Finally, I'm pretty sure that my power supply is over the top so If someone could recommend one it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for the help:)

Again thank you so much and one last thing. I would like to stay with a AMD processor unless there is a better Intel card for the same price. I want to stay above an i3 chip so i5 would definitely be the lowest I go for Intel. THANK YOU:D

Hey! I looked at your list and it looks pretty good! I would try to get an fx 8000 or 6000 series cpu and an am3 mobo

mobo:
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-970ag43
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-ga970ads3p

cpu:
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-fd6300wmhkbox
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-fd8120frgubox (a little more expensive...)
(the cpu you mention is an APU, which means int has graphics built into the chip. Since you are getting a separate graphics card there is no point in an APU)

gpu:
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-02gp43751kr

For $10 more, you could get a 750 ti with 2gb of vram. Much better performance and same size...

Can I ask 2 more questions?

1. I know there are ups and downs to a higher amount of cores and a lower amount of cores in your CPU but is 6 the definitely the best for my smaller $700(or around that) budget? I've heard that 4 is more the way to go from others...

2. What is the difference between AM3+, FM2, and FM2+?

Thanks

1. Since you are choosing the amd route most of there current cpus have 6 or 8 cores, you dont need these right now buy they will help in the future when games utilize those cores. ( Sort of like intel's hyper-threading...)

2. I think am3+ is the most current socket for amd. I dont think there's much difference between the sockets, just make sure your socket type matches on your cpu and mobo
