Do I need a speaker for a build's first boot?

Im building my first pc and I already have the case and mobo...but both of them didnt come with a speaker...Do I need to have a speaker for my first boot? Is there any other way of telling is my build is good or if something is wrong with it? Thank you

as long as your pc boots to desktop you will be fine
if however you get an error when starting you will get no audio beeps to tell you what the problem is or even a single beep to tell you all is good
i would suggest you get another speaker
