I am wanting to install windows 8 on my new pc, I talked to Microsoft chat help and they told me I have to purchase Microsoft windows system builder which is 200 bucks. Is that the case or can I buy the windows 8.1 pro download to a USB and just plug it in on my new build?

Thank you!

Hi Deverick37
You can an buy the windows 8.1 pro download to a USB
or alternatively buy a windows 8.1 pro oem disc and use that , you do not need Microsoft windows system builder

yeah like mick said you don't need a system builder version an OEM version will work the only diff is you can only use the OEM version key on one pc at a time, which isn't an issue for you since you are only installing it on one pc anyhow.

You can find the Windows 8.1 OEM 64bit version for 99 dollars.
