Drivers for my 770 crash my pc

When I try to download the drivers for my GTX 770 it downloads a little bit and then I get a blue restart screen. This is really annoying me and any help is really appreciated, thanks!

What is your full pc spes? Include what brand and model you have for the power supply.

MSI twin frozer, cpu is i5 4570, 8gb corsair vengence ram, 750gb WD black HDD, MOBO B85M pro 4 Asrock, corsair 600w psu. I have tried alot of things like installing old drivers from the disk that it came with, deleting all nvidia drivers and reinstalling. One thing to note is when geforce exp opens up it says that there was an error aand when I try to install the driver about half way through it just goes to a blue screen and shuts down I have win 8. my old gpu is the 760 twin frozer again

When you install the drivers for the GTX 760, is it the same or is it just for the GTX 770

If you redownload the file and run it as admin, does it make a difference?

I tried these and they don't seem to work when geforce exp starts up it says that it had an error but doesn't say what the error was

somtimes when geforce starts up it gives an error message that nvapi.dll is not supposed to be working with windows but even after I deleted it, it keeps popping up

if you don't install geforce experience from the installation , do you still bsod or have errors?

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL this is all that pops up it was looking hopeful for a little bit but during the driver install about half way it just showed BSOD again

Did you change to any language non-Unicode?
Consider reinstalling windows again to test.

if a gpu doesn't have any drivers on it should it not show up on my pc? I went into system properties and also with razer synapse it showed up as microsoft bussiness graphics and so I was curious as I think I may have just got a faulty gpu

Consider getting a replacement from where you got your GTX 770

Thank you very much for all your help it was a fairly stressful day and after reinstalling windows it is working again there were a few games that didn't work before so i'm hoping this might fix them as well. Thanks again for all the suggestions andi'm really glad it's all fixed. Will be gaming again by tomorrow morning
