Ok so I am looking for a decent monitor for my first build. I was looking at the Dell UltraSharp U2713HM (2560x1440) and it had great reviews but there are apparently problems with green tinged screens and it does not perform well in hd intense gaming. I like the look of the resolution and my gpu supports it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a monitor that still looks good under pressure and will not break the bank? or any other opinions on the Dell UltraSharp? My rough budget is $660 NZD ($561 US).

Intel Core i7-4790 3.6GHz
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming GT ATX
Kingston Beast 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400
Sapphire Radeon R9 290X 4GB Tri-X
SeaSonic 650W

Asus 27" 1440p PB278Q PLS panel. I own one, love it, highly recommend it.

What about the Asus VG278HE 1920x1080 27" TN Would the loss of picture quality for 144Hz be worth it? The Dell runs at 60 Hz

Both are great choices, I prefer 1440p 60Hz over 1080p 144Hz, but haven't used 144hz long enough to completely support that. As said, both are great choices, with my choice being 1440pIPS/PLS over TN 1080p 144Hz.

great choice, enjoy!

I myself have now gone 2160p, Compared to 1440p, I can tell the difference and it is really astonishing.
