hello.
im using my lenovo ideapad for almost 4 years now and i havent got a problem ever since until it caught a virus and something was really wrong so i decided to not use it. i want to bring it to a repair shop but i havent got the time so it remained unused for almost a year. i turned it on every once in a while just to check, maybe just 3 times that whole year. then it was summer so i decided to bring it to a repair shop nearby. it was reformatted and was perfectly working. he showed it to us with the charger plugged to it, he turned it off then unplgged the charger.

i went home then checked my laptop. i tried to turn it on but it wont. then i thought maybe it needs to be charged so i plugged the charger to the laptop and it turned on. i saw from the battery icon bellow that it is 97% charged. i was really confused because i thought it was low on battery, so i unplugged the charger. the moment i unplugged it, it shut down. i dont know what to do please HELP. your reply wil really help me A LOT. Thanks!!

I have come across this problem before.

Try unplugging the charger from the mains, remove the battery, then plug the charger back inbut make sure nothing touches the battery contacts on the laptop

.If the laptop then works okay it is quite likely you have an old battery which will not charge. This also happens to mobile ( cell ) phones, after so long the battery becomes useless.
