Hi.
I have a pretty old computer with an ASUS P5G41C-M LX mobo and it runs windows 7.
I really want to buy a SSD drive but I recently read an article (http://) on this site that states that you better have an AHCI support on your system when using SSD. I understood it has something to do with TRIM support also.

My question is - am I missing something required to have a SSD drive?
If you know something about this, plz help.
Thanks in advance.

A SSD will probably work. It will work in IDE mode, just not as fast R/W rates. And trim does work in IDE mode as long as you have Win7 or 8. That MB only has sata2 so that will slow the SSD down too.

I have seen a few old MB's that were not compatible with SSD's. Usually they work, though.
