So recently I got the Corsair AX860i for my CM Storm Sniper case. The 4 case fans used to be attached via an ATX, but Corsair warns to NOT use ATX that don't come with the modular unit.

So I can attach them via 4-pin cables. I plugged them into my motherboard, turned the PC on and the motherboard's ATX immediately started smoking. So how am I supposed to power my case fans with this new power supply? I feel like I'm doing something terribly stupid and I don't know why.

Here is a picture of the fan cables:

I can get pictures of anything else if need be.

Thanks for your help.

Read the manual. You either plug them into the power supply or plug them into the motherboard. Not both.

Sadly, the manual does not have any information regarding these. However, I did find a visual guide on the Cooler Master forums and now I know where I'm supposed to plug them in to. and it was definitely not the motherboard. Thank you.
