This is my current build: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/txkTzy

I'm a beginner to all this computer stuff and I'm wondering... What should go in the HDD and what should go in the SSD for GAMING and best, maximum FPS purposes...

Would I normally want the SSD as my boot drive or the HDD? I expect it would be the SSD...

There's nothing else to say. Pretty simple question that I'm asking.

Thanks in advance! :??:

I don't really understand how this work though... Like, the whole HDD and SSD thing...

Is this video good enough to learn how to switch everything? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMo8krAJd5Q

Also, if I install Windows 7/8 with a CD... How am I gonna actually get to make those changes to the HDD>SSD and SSD>Boot drive and HDD>Storage?

Yes, I am starting from scratch.

All I want to know is what to do after installing from scratch Windows 7 / 8 for HDD>SSD and SSD>Boot drive and HDD>Storage...

Let me rephrase that.

Hard disk drive is mechanical, it uses a spinning plate inside the drive to store data.

Solid state drive is like a usb flash drive but faster.

the SSD is faster than an HDD, so it is advisable to use the SSD as the medium for the operating system, so the boot and load time is faster, the same with games.

But if you only use an HDD, its ok aswell.

So, if you can afford an ssd and hdd combo, then go ahead
Else,
a WD caviar black HDD may provide with what you want.

Oh i forgot..

If you're unsure how to configure the bios to correctly install the OS to the correct drive then,

Remove the HDD, install the SSD on sata 0 then install the OS, after installation reconnect the HDD then use drive management to configure the storage.

Or

Before installing the OS,
Go to bios, select boot priority to cd/dvd, save and exiit.
then at OS installation menu, select the SSD to install the OS.

If I have both the SSD and the HDD plugged and connected to my PC already... Would this work? Like, when I installed my Windows 7 / 8 onto the SSD drive

It seems like it would be easy doing what he's saying... Still pretty confusing since I'm just starting to learn about all of this... What is BIOS exactly?

Oh... Basically if I just put on my SSD It will be easier to install my OS then afterwards after installation I can put on the HDD?

Like, I've been mostly told this:

OS & Games on the SSD

Files & Non-Important programs (Such as what???)

Correct?

So, basically you're telling me that when building it to just put on the SSD first then do the whole OS installation then afterwards go for the HDD when everything is working properly?
