Replacing Motherboard Socket

Is it possible to completely replace a motherboard socket 1150? I think 2 or 3 pins have completely broken off, with a few others a bit bent, but could I replace the whole socket?

I did ask MSI what it would cost but they said they wouldn't do paid repairs. I am waiting upon a reply as to whether they will fix it under warranty - I am doubtful.

Right, OK then. I guess I just have an expensive paper weight.

...unless you have a BGA rework station just sitting around doing nothing in your garage, sell it on ebay for parts and just buy another one. Someone with a BGA machine would probably buy it off you. Once you have that machine and know what temps to set it at and how long, it is actually an easy process. The only problem is those machines are around $5,000 to $25,000. And, no, you can't use a $20 heat gun. Trust me. Just ask my old Xbox 360 motherboard that I tried that on several years ago.

MSI have said they will replace it under warranty, though I'd need to do it through the retailer, but i got it off eBay...

This is the email they sent me after i sent them pictures of the socket:

" board can be accepted under warranty.

But you will need to return it through the dealer.

Also do let them know that we will accept it, without any additional costs, otherwise they might refuse to help you"

however, i am stuck, because i got it off eBay
