I just need a graphics card to finish my computer, but with so many good graphics cards out, I don't know which to choose. This is the first computer I've ever built, and I know the current parts arent the best. I was looking for a computer that can max out games, or be close to maxing them out. Games like Battlefield, DayZ, Crysis 3, Metro: Last Light, and other graphics heavy games. I only got $550, and I won't go higher. What graphics card is good for me?

Current build:

CPU: Intel i5-4670K
CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper T4
RAM: Cruciel Ballistix 2x4GB
MOBO: Gigabyte Z87-HD3
Memory: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
PSU: Corsair CX750M
Case: Zalman Z11+ ATX Mid Tower

*Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X : http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-1003612sr

The 290X performs between the GTX 780 & GTX 780ti. And this card overclocks well.

Also, i wouldn't trust CX series with a $500 GPU. A lower wattage PSU & better quality would be ideal.

R9-290X requires 33Amps & 600W PSU minimum, with 1x 8 pin & 1x 6 pin power conncector

XFX Pro series 650W 80+ Bronze ($59.99) : http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1650snlb9

*note, the Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X is just over 305mm long, the Zalman Z11 can only fit cards up to 290mm long.

Corsair Carbide 200R :http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-200r
(fits GPU's upto 430mm long with front drive bay removed)

I would get a R9 290X.
Overall the 290X is better than the GTX 780, but they are both amazing. If you can get a good deal from somewhere, I would recommend getting a GTX 780ti.
It's a BEAST of a card and will run every game on Ultra @ 1080P with 60+ FPS.

Also, as Wolverine said, change the Power Supply.

Overall, it will be a great build for many years :D
