Hi folks, i have been very fortunate and been give a bundle of computer parts by a family member; xfx R9 280x
500GB seagate
Gigabyte Z87-HD3
750W antec psu
g3220 3.0 ghz cpu

will these parts combine well, aware i will need some memory and a case, suggestions please?

Solution
My backup pc uses a G3220. It is actually quite quick.
I also use a SSD, and that is one of the best performance improvements you can buy today. You will not regret it.

1. Get an SSD
2. Get windows and install on said SSD
3. Get 2 x 4GB RAM
4. Get a nice case

You might want to consider replacing the CPU, an i5 would probably suite that PC better than a dual core pentium.

What will be the main use for this pc?

To get a running pc, you will need:

1. A os, windows 7 or 8. 64 bit. About $100

2. ram. Normally a 8gb kit of 2 x 4gb ddr3 1600 ram. faster is not worth much. $75

3. Most any ATX case will do. The Antec GX500 is fine http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129191 But, buy any one that appeals to you. If it holds an ATX motherboard and has a couple of 120mm intake fans, it will serve.

4. Try out the G3220. Most games are graphics dependent so the G3220 may serve you well enough.
You can change it out later if you ever need to. Your Z87 motherboard can support a very strong $200+ cpu.

5. If you have the budget, I would buy a 120gb Samsung evo for the "C" drive. 240gb would be better.
It makes everything you do feel so much quicker. Use the 500gb hard drive for backups and overflow.

Thanks for the replies folks..............my pc use is pretty much the norm really, web, mail, downloading, movies and a bit of wow.
I've read that the g3320 is a pretty quick processor for average use so i am hoping not to have to upgrade.
the sdd idea definitely appeals, so i am going to go with that,
