I have a dell xps 8300 Intel i7-2600 quad core 3.4 ghz 16 gigs of ram, 550w thermaltake psu. I just bought the msi gaming r9 270. I used to have an AMD Radeon HD 6450. I removed the 640, plugged in the 270, into the pci slot, added the one 6 pin power connectors, put everything aback together and turned my computer on. Im still displaying a scereen, and I can perform all the usual functions, howver my fps in all games is horrible. Ive been using minecraft as a testand im averaging 20 fps at high settings. I don't know what to do, Ive downloaded the latest drivers, checked all the connections, and integrated graphics would have been auto disabled when the new card was plugged in.

I have the XPS 8300 too, and when I changed to a 7970, I had to get a whole new motherboard for it to work. Don't buy Dell ever again if you want to upgrade in the future!
