A 720P will not work it has to be a 1080P at least, I also had a 720P and tried it but could not use it for gaming.

A virtual reality headset may one day be a worthy option but who wants to wear it for hours gaming, the larger screen is not only good for gaming but regular use as well, I have some desktop wallpaper that is stunningly awesome, plus movie playback as well.

I only suggested this because I'm running it and the OP was considering 3...
Just to get you at least thinking in another direction, why go to the expense of 3 monitors, a stand, and the division caused by the monitor frames when gaming?

When the prices of larger screen HDTVs 1080P capable HDMI input are dropping like flies! :)

Just a suggestion.

I'm running a 46" Toshiba LCD 1080P, when I game it's like walking into the screen, it is amazing!

You have to actually try it to see what I mean!

okay thanks guys for your support. i think that the 46 inch tv is maybe to big for me i know it sounds werd, and you know 3 monitors is like or almost an OLED screen. not gonna get a stand tho just side by side on my desk. Now to you crispychips i got a corsair h60 (2013) and my i5 4670k is running cool, even on load so i guess you probaly right about the 3 monitor setup. but not gonna pick it as the solutions if there should be more to come up if you know :D but thanks both of you guys to help me out here ;D

Not sure how you do it,i played on a 32" 1080p monitor and thought the pixels looked huge. Anything over 27 inch i recommend 1440p.

Well there is no pixel problem it's crystal, maybe it was the quality difference between brands? I don't really know?

What I do know, is using this 46" HDTV for gaming has totally ruined me!

Going back to some small sized monitor when this one dies is just not going to happen, it will be at least the same size and probably higher performing, but quality wise you have to match the technology capabilities of the display screen, to what you're able to deliver to it.

errgh, playing on a TV at a desks length away from it was a pretty bad experience for me. Admittedly I have only used a 720p TV in that situation, but still.
If you want immersion, for the price of the TV Ryan suggested you can get yourself two of the new revision Oculus Rift Dev Kits.
