What would be a better upgrade for me on my current system: I am running a Intel Core i5-2400 Sandy Bridge 3.1GHz with MSI H67MA-E35 as a mother board an G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM for ram My video card is a MSI Twin FRzr 560.
I have around 290 to spend an was wondering if it would be better to upgrade either the CPU or GPU. I Have not done a upgrade in a few years now so I am out of the loop on much of of everything LOL.
Any adive would be great thanks

Hey, you have a good PSU!

Tier 1 :)

The 770 or r9 280x would be a good choice.

2 of them later on will be good with your 750w PSU and won't be overclocking aswell as having an efficient CPU.

As SU11YBEAR mentioned, the r9 280x is a nice card.
This also may give you some interesting facts. You may only be stuck with a single GPU because of your mobo and even maybe your CPU.

Not that it matters as the r9 280x will be a great upgrade and really in 1-2 years you could by a newly released socket with...

Hey, it will depend on what PSU you have. Many people cheap out on them and they can end up being a bad quality and causing problems later.

Try to find your model by look on your PSU for it.

Your cpu isn't too bad, so I would recommend upgrading the gpu to a GTX660 or higher tier one. A higher GPU will depend on your PSU and if you need a new one.

Do you know the if your RAM is 1333 or 1600? It's fine either way since your GPU/PSU is the main priority.

Not that it matters as the r9 280x will be a great upgrade and really in 1-2 years you could by a newly released socket with a brand new cpu and mobo and Crossfire then if you wanted. :) I think it's a good plan.
