how to find laptops with this intel socket size

Doesn't exist. Firstly, laptops and desktops use different socket types (that's a desktop socket) and secondly that's a high-end socket not commonly used in consumer PCs. There are core i7 laptops available (it's becoming increasingly common in "ultrabooks" for the CPU to be soldered to the mainboard anyway). Your best bet is a new laptop or a higher end used one that had an i7 to start with

Yeah there are those (borderline crazy) but I'm not sure how he'll find that in a "cheaper used laptop"
